Rock Paper CNC is an entry for the CHART art fair architecture competition 2019. The art fair takes place at Charlottenborg in Copenhagen every year, and the courtyard acts as a stage for a small architectural competition for architecture students and newly graduated architects. Out of more than 50 applications this project was selected along with 4 others to particpate in the competition.

The  building blocks, which gives the stone-like structure Rock Paper CNC its appearance, are made individually by hand from recycled paper in CNC-cut moulds. By combining traditional craftsmanship and new digital means the architectural form demonstrates how waste can be revitalised as a raw material.

The project was designed and built by Diana Smiljkovic, Gustav Kjær Vad Nielsen, Oskar Koliander, Haris Hasanbegovic and Jonas Lillesø Bentzen.
